The pre-wedding photoshoot is a great way to become a bit more accustomed to being photographed - it isn't everyones favourite thing! If it takes place at your reception venue, it gives you an idea about the backdrops you'd like for on the day.

The sun came out just at the right time and illuminated the magnolia tree and the ominous purple sky provided a dramatic backdrop - and the rain stayed away.

Hannah and Anthony were relaxed and looked really natural in the photographs and weren't bad looking either!

I've got to say nice things because they very generously included me in the gorgeous meal at Tom Brownes in Gunthorpe.

Who we are

Having covered nearly four hundred weddings over more than 10 years (I should be a wedding planner, not a wedding photographer!) I understand the need to capture the important moments but not to be the "main event" because that's you guys..

Although it is important and indeed my main job, to capture all those fleeting, spontaneous moments that will happen throughout your day, it would be a shame not to take a bit of time out together to make the most of the great venue you've chosen. So I recommend you both take a romantic walk to make sure you get some photos that will remind you of the day you spent together and that capture the romance and love that made the day so amazing!

...but one of the the best bits of this job has to be when the couple return from their honeymoon and I'm delivering the proofs and they say - or their Dad, as it was last week - "thanks very much, we hardly noticed you and all our guests said how great you were on the day"

Whatever you do - make sure the person you book to do your photography - who may be with you all day - is someone you get on with!

P.S. The good news is that you can have your whole day covered with a pre-wedding shoot and signature photo for your guests to sign and a boxed album for less than most photographers will charge you to turn up!
My fees haven't gone up for three years and in addition in January I reduced all my package prices. I don't think you will
find my product, reportage photography for up to 13 hours with a boxed linen or leather album for less - let me know if you do!
